Manwood Lodge is a self-catering accommodation which sits nestled in tranquility, restful solitude, and privacy on twenty seven acres of extraordinary natural bush overlooking the majestic Drakensberg Mountain Range, Kamberg and Mooi River. With over two hundred identified species of bird life, this is a bird watchers paradise.
Our self-catering guest home is a double storey thatched, semi-detached house which has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of six people and we are ideally positioned on the famous Midlands Meander route just minutes from many fine schools, wedding venues and golf courses. We encourage you to put your feet up, snuggle into our amazingly comfortable sofas, chairs, and of course, beds…and RELAX!
At Manwood Lodge you can bask in the warmth of the sunshine as you take in the mountain views and freshness of the Midlands air in our garden. Or cuddle with your special someone in front of the crackling fire while watching your favorite movie. Escape in solitude to the Midlands, rekindle your romance, relax in divine comfort…rejuvenate your soul.

Fully Equipped Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need such as fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and stove.
The living room has a large TV as well as satellite decoder and DVD player
A dedicated space in the garden with table and chairs for guests to enjoy the natural surroundings.
Traditional Log Fireplace
There is a fireplace for those cold winter evenings. Fire-making materials are provided.
The house is fully serviced by our staff who will make sure everything is kept clean and tidy.
We provide most of the amenities required such as bed linen and towels, hair dryer, bathroom essentials and use of laundry facilities if required.
THINGS TO DO
More than 200 identified species make this area a bird-watchers paradise. Fishing is also popular with guests as the Mooi river is accessible from our property. Many fine fly-fishing dams are nearby, as well as hiking, golf and hot-air ballooning.
The area has an abundance of cultural sites which will guests can explore such as the Nelson Mandela capture site, Anglo Boer War battlefields and Kamberg cave paintings.
Arts & Crafts
For those who love arts and crafts the Midlands Meander is the ideal route to explore. Here you can find everything from leather goods to handmade soaps, cheeses and wine.
There are a number of restaurants within close vicinity to Manwood Lodge, offering food and fare which cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets. There are also some wonderful cafés closeby for those coffee lovers.
ESSA (The Wildlife & Environment Society of South Africa) in the uMgeni River valley is a must. Home to giraffe, zebra and a variety of antelope as well as over 270 of bird species.
There are numerous places in the area where guests can enjoy horse-riding. Thanks to the outstanding scenery, this is the perfect place to see by horseback.
